Newark airport "Burritos Without Borders". Fresh Mexican cuisine hot, delicious and addictive. Mediterranean, Mexican, American and Asian are just a sampling of the flavors, which allow Currito to appeal to a variety of customers. Marinated chicken, steak, fresh salsas, steamed brown rice and spiced tofu offer healthy options! Newark airport's best!

Currito Cantino Newark
My husband and I recently ate at the Currito Cantina in Newark airport during a layover. It was supper time so we decided to treat ourselves to a drink with dinner. He ordered a beer from the menu. I wanted a glass of wine but as there was no wine listed on the menu I asked if they served a white house wine. The waitress said she could bring me a glass and I foolishly neglected to ask the cost. We had been in several different airports at that point in our trip and the cost of a glass of wine was usually not more than $7 or $8.
Imagine my surprise when we were presented with the bill and the one glass of wine cost $15.00...more than my meal. Believe me, it wasn't a premium brand. I was annoyed at the waitress for not mentioning the price when I ordered and she said most customers had the same reaction. She and the bartender seemed completely uninterested in customer service and are probably used to ripping off customers who have few choices in that part of the airport.
We definitely do not recommend this restaurant. The food was OK but the service was marginal and the pricing bizarre.
Very frustrating
The 3 hours I spent waiting for my flight there were always 15 to 20 people waiting to sit down. About a 20 - 25 minute wait standing in line. It is the only restaurant in the area. (That's weird). The staff was overwhelmed. They did their best. All I wanted was a glass of wine. I had to ask if they even served wine because could find nothing on the menu. When I finally got a seat it took 15 - 20 minutes for a waiter to show up. I become nervous that I was going to have to leave to check on my delayed flight because it was taking so long for my wine to come. Had to remind waiter I may have to leave. The sauvignon blanc wine came in a small liquor glass. Was probably about 4 ozs. The bill was $16 dollars for one small glass of white wine. I was in shock but had to leave to catch my flight. Adding to the problem was some americans refused to share a table so that in some cases one person sat at a table for two or a table for four with the big line standing right near them watching them read their paper or talk on their cell phone after they finished eating. Amazingly inconsiderate people.
[Attention Newark Liberty Airport, add a bar to the area and watch the price gouging.]
